Riley High School Provides the following programs and practices as evidence of our efforts to provide quality instruction and learning every student every day.

  • Implementation of the Effective Teaching and Learning Initiative and the Adaptive Schools Seminar Training for administrators, Faculty and staff to effectively assess, update and revise instruction and curricula
  • Riley High School Engineering and Technology Magnet course utilizing Project Lead the Way instruction and curricula
  • Integration of the Common Core Standards to begin the 2012-2013 academic year.

    • Core 40 Academic Honors Diploma
    • Core 40 Technical Honors Diploma
    • Certificate of Completion for Special Education Students
  • Advanced Placement Courses in English, US History, Calculus AB, Chemistry, Physics and Biology I
  • English 10 and Algebra I curriculum mapping/ yearly instructional calendars with five-week mini-assessments on Study Island
  • Finalizing Curriculum map/yearly instructional calendar with five-week mini-assessments for Biology I
  • Career and technical education programs/ career pathways with dual-college and high school credit available, as well as industry-recognized certifications
  • Special Education Individual Education Plans (written with goals to support academic progress, independent living, employment and work skills) and Life Skills Program as determined by a student's IEP
  • INTERN program for students with disabilities that provides on-the-job training at a community job site.
  • Individual Learning Plans for English Language Learners (written with goals, instructional and assessment strategies to support the language needs and academic support of English Learners)
  • ECA remediation courses in English 10 and Algebra I for students failing to meet the academic standard.
  • Continuation of the 8-step process- year three and Success Period Remediation and Enrichment
  • Read 180 courses for students needing remediation in reading
