  • The French club will meet today after school, Monday, March 25th from 3:40 to 5:00 in Room 312. We will make things related to Easter and Spring.

     

  • The Drama Club will hold auditions for their children's play, Charlotte's Web, on Wednesday, March 27th from 3:40 to 6 PM in the auditorium. All students are welcome. Audition packets are available in the main office. Please reach out to Mr. Mittleman for more information.

     

  • The Riley Athletic department is selling tickets for Port-a-Pit Chicken for $10 each.  The event will be held right here in the Riley parking lot on Monday, April 15th.Chickens may also be purchased with cash and will be available starting at 3:00pm that day.   Pre-sale tickets will be good until 5:30pm Please see the athletic department to purchase tickets.   The varsity softball game vs Bremen will begin at 6:00 that evening!
 
  • The 2024 Hoosier Poet yearbooks have been ordered! For $78 you can secure one before we sell out! Scan the QR codes posted around the school to order online or see Mrs. Weisser in the treasurer's office or Ms. Emkow. The yearbooks are payable with cash, money order, or card for a small fee. Deposits will be accepted with full payments due at the time of distribution at the end of the year.

  • Faculty, staff, and student body, please take a moment and acknowledge Riley High School's paraprofessionals. Ms. Racz, Ms. Golubski, Mr. Morgan, Mr. Mitchem, Mrs. Belmarez, and Ms. Garren are rock stars.  Thank you so much for standing in the gap to support our RHS Scholars. 

     

  • Happy Paraprofessional Week and Disability Awareness Month!  We will wear Purple on Wednesday, March 20th.

     

  • The Class of 2024’s Dominic Koczan, Special Olympics, "The Vikings”, won both of their games at sectionals weekend and the Vikings will be advancing to state!  Congratulations Dom!

     

  • Brady Burkhart and Owen Liskey placed first in the State Sports Management for FBLA. They are national qualifiers for the FBLA.  Congratulations to both of you!

     

  • A reminder to all seniors:  Your second payment for the Senior Trip of $50 is due by Friday, March 22nd. You can pay the $50 or the remaining amount. You must have a permission slip on file before you can get on the bus. Please get those to Mrs. Knappenberger as soon as possible.   • SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE RILEY HIGH SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION:

    TOMORROW, March 5th our Juniors will be taking the SAT here at Riley. It will be an asynchronous day for all other grades. It is important for our students to be prepared and do their best on this test as it directly impacts our schools’ grade. As we are trying to prepare for the number of students who will be leaving, after such a challenging test, we are asking for your help. If you are leaving when you are done testing tomorrow, please send in a note or email to Mrs. Murphy ([email protected]) or Mrs. Scott ([email protected]) BY THE END OF TODAY (MONDAY, MARCH 4TH). All exit passes need to be submitted in writing (digital or original) prior to test day. Please begin sending them in ASAP.

  • The Riley WildBots robotics team participated in the FIRST Indiana District Event at Penn HS this weekend where they were part of the winning alliance. The robot played excellent defense while assisting alliance partners with scoring opportunities. Congratulations to team members at the event this weekend: Dainen Griffes, Morgan Vondrak, Sam Hernandez, Vicky Leanos-Lopez, Austin Pflugner, James Wilson, Hunter Strong, and Keedon Whitney.

  • February is Career & Technical Education Awareness Month.  Focus today:  Entrepreneurship:  Learn how to operate your own business.  Students will be afforded the opportunity to work with mentors from the University of Notre Dame’s MBA Program and compete in the McCloskey New Venture Competition.  Possible careers include:  Business office assistant, sales representative, accountant, business research & development.  Current students are:  Hannah Freel, Damon Johnson, Karis Johnson, Calvin Strickland, Brandon Wirth, Avery Flatt, Jemiah Hallom, Sheniyah Howell, Nitarra Hughes, and Eusebio Mayorga 

Jumpstart your career with CTE.  Try on a career and see if it fits.  Dual credit is available in many classes along with industry recognized certification AND no cost to you or your family. These courses help assist students to complete Bucket #3 in your Graduation Pathway.   See your Career Guidance Specialist Mrs. Diane Carter or your Guidance Counselor for more information.
