Mr. Logsdon

This is Mr. Logsdon's 12th year of teaching. He has been at Riley for the past five years, and has been the department chair for the past four. Before teaching at Riley, Mr. Logsdon taught at the Early College Program, and also at Washington High School in South Bend. Before becoming a teacher, Mr. Logsdon was in technical sales. He studied at the University of Notre Dame, did Transition to Teaching at Taylor University, and also has a background in Computer Science. Besides teaching here at Riley, Mr. Logsdon is involved in after school tutoring, he helps out with the wrestling program and sells 50-50 tickets at Friday night football games.


Mr. Metcalfe

Mr. Metcalfe is an alum of the former Jackson High School. His bachelor's degree is from the University of Evansville. His Master's degree is from Ball State University. This is Mr. Metcalfe's 38th year teaching. His teaching experience includes stops at Noblesville High School, Navarre Middle School, Elkhart Central High School, Elkhart Memorial High School, and Riley High School. This is Mr. Metcalfe's year 25th year at Riley.


Mr. Parkinson

Mr Thomas Parkinson comes to his fifth year at Riley High School after a long and varied career. Education has been a cornerstone of his life, both as a student and as a teacher. As an undergraduate he studied mathematics and physics and tutored those subjects at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pennsylvania and Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He further studied mathematics on a National Science Foundation grant at the University of Notre Dame. He diversified to earn a Masters Degree in Education plus additional course work in business at Western Michigan University. In the 1970’s he taught math and physics in the Niles Community Schools. In 1979 he left the Niles Schools to pursue a new career in the construction industry. Retiring after a 30-year career of ownership of the highly successful North Central Roofing, Inc, Mr Parkinson has continued business interests in four additional companies related to real estate management and inspection. Mr Parkinson served a two-year tenure at Dream Charter Academy in Benton Harbor and one year as a pioneering teacher at South Bend Career Academy. Convinced that the education of students must prepare them for future employment or further education, Mr Parkinson holds his students accountable to the highest standards of educational and social achievement.Schedule:

Mr. Urban

Mr. Urban is starting his 32nd year of teaching in South Bend. He has previously taught at Clay Middle, Washington, and Adams. Mr. Urban referees volleyball in his free time. He has eight grandkids and loves to spend time with them. Mr. Urban is quite happy to be here at Riley. He is also a proud graduate of Purdue University.

 

Ms. Haubold

This is Ms. Haubold's fourth year of teaching at Riley High School. Prior to teaching at Riley, Ms. Haubold spent time teaching in Bloomington Indiana and in Bungoma Kenya. Ms. Haubold is a graduate of Adams High School, and has a bachelors degree from Indiana University Bloomington. She is the head girls track coach, and assistant cross country coach
